Technology and hype around settling on Mars have ramped up in the past decade, but what would life on another planet look like? What will humans do to thrive on Mars? 

A boundary-pushing, Web3 experience.

Powered by blockchain, players can earn ROI as they navigate the struggles of Martian terrain, crafting resources, developing land, and trading in a live, free-market economy. This product pushed the envelope where asset ownership meets in-depth gameplay while also producing a system simulation of what settling on Mars could be.

Goals: 1) Build a substantial community base 2) Produce content and lore across digital platforms 3) Promote NFT drops 4) Expand interest in settling Mars and Web3 Gaming.

Collective Impact: This product shattered multiple Web3 firsts. We went cross-chain from WAX to Solana, hosted a Polygon cross-chain cross-over event, featured in multiple articles (including VentureBeat), and grew the global player base by 889% DAU from product launch. More than $2 Million in NFT volume has been circulated on WAX alone.

My Impact: As the first hire for my department, I came into this role right at the product launch and onboarded all future teammates. I led all digital brand and marketing execution efforts, including strategy and content management across platforms, website design, PM for design consultants, and creative development of in-game lore, paid advertising, and owned media. I was also the team lead for growth and community marketing, and developed all marketing data sources, analytics, and processes. I know... it was a handful of a good time.

Challenges + Strategy

There are numerous unknowns and technology friction points with the novelty of Web3. And on Mars, anything can happen.

I took shots on goal at ICAs and customer journeys, rigorously gathering data from as many sources as possible and adjusting course quickly when needed.

I led with story and community in content across website and social platforms, building in lore with sales copy to connect the brand’s universe and products with people.

I can't speak about the behind-the-scenes but know that the best strategies were used to produce this boundary-pushing web3 experience.
